Five Day Facebook Challenge
I have been challenged by fellow artist Kathy Conroy to post a piece of art a day for 5 days. This is day 1 of the challenge. "Kaleb's Pumpkin" is completed in watercolor on Arches paper. This is a painting of my grandson completed after a fun trip to the pumpkin patch. It was a joy to paint!
This is Day 2 of my 5 day art challenge. "Into the Woods" is an 18 x24 watercolor painting. My husband took this photo before we began one of our many trail rides in Tennessee. Most of this painting was poured. Brushes were only used in a small area with the majority of the painting being completed by pouring the paint and turning the paper.
Thanks to everyone for the nice comments on Day 1 and 2 of the Challenge. This is Day 3 of my 5 day challenge. "Eyes Wide Open" is a 9x12 sketch completed with carbon drawing pencils on Strathmore 500 Bristol Board. The original photo was taken of Kasper's eye, my Ky. Mountain Saddle Horse, right after a ride. With this drawing I didn't have to think about color, only value.
Many thanks for all of your kind comments for Days 1-3 . This is Day 4 of the 5 day challenge. "Tucker" is a 16 x 20 oil painting of our Australian shepherd dog. It is completed on hardboard. I took his picture one afternoon while he was on the back porch. I love painting pet portraits. Perhaps you have a favorite pet that you would like to have painted. A good photo, especially of the eyes and facial features is a must, because I don't want to make any guesses . Message me if you are interested and I can give you more information.
My 5 day challenge is coming to a close. This is a 16 x 20 pastel portrait of my husband. I usually do not paint portraits but thought I'd give this one a try. Thanks to all for your wonderful comments. I've loved reading your thoughts. Now on to more painting!
